happy birthday grandad!
my aunt shirley and cousin brody and his girlfriend chelsea came into town from kansas to join the celebration as well. we had so much fun. doris made fried chicken, i made my
peach cobbler cupcakes, mom made a delish squash casserole and shirley made her bread! yummy!!! we had a blast. there was champagne toasts where grands said multiple times... i never expected to live to be 91 but what a blessing my life has been to have been family with you folks. what a sweet, honorable and amazing person. his words are always so endearing, so meaningful and so well thought out. every word means the world because you know he has thought about them for a loong time before he has said them. he doesnt like to receive gifts for his birthdays anymore. he requests for cards filled with your sweet words. he will read and reread them over and over. he keeps all of them in a drawer to pull out later. he'll even call me and say : well jessica, i was just reading the card you sent me in 2003.... (insert dates) and i just wanted to tell you how much your words meant to me. and he always sends a thank you card immediately.

he kept carrying around the knife from cutting the cake... but mims thought it was more important to straighten his crown. i thought it was quite the picture of mims straightening the crown, grands with the 14 inch knife and olivia in the background! whats wrong with this picture?
